All runs were done at 15psi of boost, AFRs were 14.8-15.0 at idle, and slightly richer while cruising.

What manifold are you using?

Why does the dyno say you were running 18 - 19 psi of boost?

probably a small spike... normal assuming he runs a mbc(ball/spring)

^^^Exactly. The WG spring is rated at 10psi and boost is increased to 15psi via MBC. The turbo initially spools to 19psi and then levels off to ~15psi at around 4800 RPMs, when the WG opens.
sunnys14 wrote:What manifold are you using?
The manifold is a reinforced eBay T2 mani, modified to run a T3 with external WG.

Basically, a 1.5in diameter pipe with the WG at one end taps into the collector of the manifold. The WG then has it's own atmospheric dump tube. You can sort of see part of the WG inside the red circle:

First time I've ever seen anyone have the intake between radiator and block. Always goes towards the headlight...

Thanks guys. Honestly, I couldn't have done it without the aid of my fellow Niconauts.

On another note, I thought you might enjoy this too. It just popped up in the local PR forum.

lol they can say what they want about that manifold its not the ONLY thing gettign them to 400whp, I'm seeing a map bassed direct ignition'd, probably wasted spark, and a few other goodies like large fuel lines and quality filter/regulator. pretty nice setup, boht yours and the other guys now just do something with your filter I want an update tomorrow with pics of you filter going to the fender area. might get you to like 235~237 area.....

Why not lean that out a bit and make some more power? Do you have knock issues with a leaner tune?

No issues, I just wanted to keep a decent safety margin.

grats on the numbers. how does she feel on the road? out of curiosity, shouldn't it be making more power or torque or both at that boost level?

BUT, the fact that they're making 400whp on 16psi is what's so great.. plus that manifold is beefy, I want one. I don't like my IAP one anymore.

Anything richer then 11.2 to 11.5 is just wasting fuel. If you were running a higher static compression maybe, but you're not. Having the timing retarded even a little bit will let you run 11.5 with no issues with detonation. You'll be surprised how much power you can make with a few minor tweaks. Not to mention you'll increase your spool time as well.

you know, if you had access to a dyno for free, it would be interesting to see you do 2 runs back to back where the only difference between the runs was whether your intake tube was turned how it is, or turned towards the driver side fender.......

nonetheless, happy boosting.

The car feels great, like a stock 240 while off boost and then hauls a$$ as soon as it starts spooling.

Here are some comparable KA-T numbers I grabbed from this thread: zerothread?id=38554331 hp @ 17 psi288 hp @ 13 psi310 hp @ 17 psi326 hp @ 17 psi312 hp @ 15 psi326 hp @ 12 psi291 hp @ 12 psi

325 hp @ 15 psi on 93 octane gas seems to be right on the money.

Thanks WD. AFRs at maximum HP/TQ were ~11.4, but they could use some improvement during spool, between 3750-5400 RPMs.

I agree. I tried to change the intake's direction after Florida240's and Neverlift's advice, but it didn't fit when turned towards the fender. Unfortunately, the current air filter is too big for that space

I really appreciate you guys' advice and constructive criticism.

Another local KA-T just found, the guy says the car put down 407 hp @ 19.5 psi with a Greddy E-Manage Blue on stock ECU on Feb/25/08.

Here's a video of his car at the dyno, but I wasn't able to watch it (if it asks you to log in, go to "account" in the upper left hand corner, user name: ghx407 password: ghx407, then go to "videos" in the menu on the left). Let me know if your able to see it:Click to view Video

Here's some pics he posted in a local PR forum in Sep/07:
