OK! dyno'd today! first off... the dyno has to be WRONG!!!! 5 out of the 6 runs were done in 3rd gear. a couple of interesting things happened, too.

1. first 3 runs gave the max 207.9 hp reading. that's when i realized he had the fan sucking air from my engine instead of blowing it! that was kind of funny. got a little more out of it after turning the fan around the right way.

2. he got it up to 135 mph on one of the runs (in 4th gear) after turning the fan the right way. NICE!

3. i had no idea my car was that damn LOUD!!!! it looked and sounded like it wanted to jump off of that machine! 2xNICE!

4. THE DYNO'S GOT TO BE WRONG!!!! i'm going to get another one done somewhere else. i thought my car dyno'd at 240 hp stock! the max i got after turning the fan was the 209?!?! check out my mods!!!!

Bone stock autos dyno that, I would say something is way off.

With just pop charger & heavy wheels my 6sp sedan put down 233whp/228ft lbs. With the lighter track wheels and plenum spacer is should be 240 all day long.

If you dyno it in lower gear you loose a lot thru your drivetrain. You have to dyno it in the highest gear and the RPM should be just before redline our engine likes to rev up.

How do you like the ground kit from Canada?

he did a run in 4th and it was pretty poor. 3rd seemed to be the magic gear, at least for my car.

i'm going next saturday to a dyno day at a different performance shop. they've got a dynajet. hopefully better, more accurate results.

the grounding kit is cool. easy to install, too. i still have the 2 ECU wires to put in, though. guess i'll do it today before next weekends dyno. need to paint my calipers this weekend, too. sheesh! i'd better get to work!

That's strange. I never dyno'd any of my car but it would make sense to run it onhighest gear. Anyways will see that next week. Make sure you let us know.

What color are you going with to paint your caliper?

red. i only saw red and black and i'm trying to find a set of gun metal grey or black wheels that i like and i feel the red would make them stand out more.

i'll definitely let you guys know how it goes next saturday. i wish i had done a base line dyno before i put all of my stuff on to know what i gained. oh well.

well it also depends on the type of dyno u were on. like mustang dynos read 30% lower then like a dyno jet. so it could be the dyno its self too. the ones that r pretty good also r the ones that bolt to the axle. jus thought i would let u know in case u didnt.

BINGO!

I dynoed my Hemi ram with the truck club back in February and only put down 259 hp at the wheels on a dyno-comp dyno. There is no way a 5050 lb 4 door truck can run a 14.05 at 98mph with only 259 hp.

I did have an ignition system problem but everyone had low low numbers.

A supercharged truck only put down 353 at the wheels?

I will probably never dyno a car unless I am trying to tune it. Otherwise it is just a number not any indication of performance. Take your car to the track that is a great indication of performance.

Very very weird. I would have thought a minimum of 245 - 250 hp with tose mods??!!

Let us know the new dyno numbers when it's done again.

Thanks for sharing Chad!

Hey Chad these gys have more colors. I work with the guy he had the caliper painted blue. Looked pretty cool on his Civic. I can't believe I said that.
