Hey Guys,

Went and dynoed my car today. I have a dying turbo thats not up to par so it wasnt too good. I got 170 horse and 182 pounds of torque.

4th gear of course.

Im wondering if anyone has a t25 in good shape they dont need, I would really appriciate it, I cant afford a good one, I just got laid off.

So far....Toda flywheelACT street clutchSDS engine managementFMICType-s bov

170 is pretty weak, I knew the turbo was mesed up, but the power just dropes after 5500 rpm. Sounds pretty nasty.

The power drop you're feeling is probably more related to the lack of an exhaust, than the turbo. Even a bad turbo will spin as fast it can spin until it breaks.

a stock SR (on the 2 inch 240 exhaust) only pulls about 160 on the dyno (give or take).

Yeah, if you think about it...brand new it puts 205 horsepower to the flywheel. It gives about a 15% loss through the driveline to the wheels resulting in 174.25hp when the motor is brand new. There is no doubt in my mind that your motor isn't new and has most likely been abused. You didn't say what kinda boost pressure you are running, but considering you are REAL close to what the stock motor should put out, i would be happy:)

Sorry guys, Its just running on 7psi, the sds reads out manifold pressure for me. Also, the motor is brand new, I also forgot to mention the wiesco pistons and eagle rods.. he he.... my bad, cant even remember my own mod list. But the motor is brand new, I guess i was just expecting to much, once I get a good turbo it will run alot better, seriously this turbo is messed up, I cant explain the noise its making but it sounds almost like metal stretching, its odd. I know its hitting the walls of the compressor from the sounds of it,Its toast, plain and simple. I was told it was cavitating by a mechanic (good friend, not trying to screw me) but I duno what that entails.

I would love it if you could get me that turbo, the sooner the better, as long as its in great shape tho, I dont want another hairr dryer.

I know if i had a good turbo it would have put down 185-190, easy, she runs awsome with the SDS, tuned perfectly.

Thanks Guys!!

I got my a$$ handed to me by a Porsche Cayenne, it was great, then I threw a belt and the car over heated. Great times..

Any one else with a T25 just sitin around?

Also, one more thing, did anyone happen to watch the speed channel? They had a show with freighters dooing burn outs and cool stuff.. This one guy had 4 huge turbos on his cummins running 240 pounds of boost!!! Wait,,, wait.... what did he say... yea thats not a typo,, two hundread and forty pounds of boost! I thought that is prety insane.

Peace

Ok, so,,, At the time of the dyno my car was only pushing 5 psi!! Thats awsome, My turbo is ghandi.

So I got 170 at the wheels on 5 psi. THat makes me pretty happy. My SDS reads out manni press..
