My Setup95 240sx se w/ s13 redtopGreddy front mountHks ss bovSummit racing electric fanblitz 3 inch dpcatco highflow cat 2.5 inches(its being replaced with a test pipe)Hks hyper 2.5 exhuast(hopefully getting replaced with jic soon)custom intake w/ hks filteract street strip clutchwalbro 255 intankgreddy profec bapexi safc-2misc gaugesIm probably forgetting some stuff. I will post if i remember.

Any ways, the first dyno at 7 psi and got 195.5 hp, and 185.5 torque. After 3 more runs and tunning the safc-2 we got 200.6 hp, and 188.7 torque.

Then we let the car cool down, and dyno'd at 14psi. It would only hold 14 till like 4.5 k then boost would drop off to around 10 psi. The guy that owns the shop thinks he needs more and better fans, but at higher boost we ending up getting 237 hp, and 242.1 torque. This was friday late morning, early afternoon, very sunny outside, and probably 85-90 degrees. On a cooler day id bet id pick up another 5-10 hp. I have the dyno sheets printed, and i will post them as soon as i find someone with a scanner. if not i might just have to take a digital pic.Chris

Nice one man, good numbers. I know what you mean about boost droping off, I have that same problem, but thats cause of my boost controller. Chris

yea, the stock tubo is a POS and can't hold boost at high RPM's. You should try a CA turbo, mine would hardly make 5psi at 8,000rpm.

That is a very nice job. I have a similar setup and to see those numbers makes me very happy. I like how you picked up an extra 5 hp from the SAFC2 while probably really smoothing out the fuel curve. Makes me want one. BTW I used to have a manual BC and the boost dropped once in the high rpms and then I got the HKS EVC V and it still drops boost in high rpms when boosting around 13 or 14psi. So I don't think its the bc. I think that we need turbos that don't peak in power so soon.

Thats good to know a mbc wont affect how good it holds. I was considering getting one, but i think the profec be is good enough. And with the safc2 at low boost we got 5 hp, and at high boost, like 14 psi, we picked up a little over 7 hp changing the curve. 325 dollars for 7 hp is pretty good in my book, and your right, the acceleration feels so much smoother with a better fuel curve.

Most likely the boost dropping off isn't related to the boost controller or the guy's fans, it's probably just the turbo being too small. A T25 is a pretty small turbo for a 2L motor turning 7500rpms. DSMs do the same thing on T25's.

Yup that is just the characteristic of the turbo. On the two DSMs I had, the T25 after about 5500 rpms would fall from 16 psi to settle around 11 psi or so. That is mainly because it just can't keep up at those rpms, that is another good reason to upgrade to something bigger. With my TO4e, this thing just begs to be driven into the higher rpms, the higher the rpm, the more this ***** pulls...it is insane.

*cough*but we aren't going to speak on the insane lag I get out of it*cough*

OK, I know that magazines over dramatize stuff alot, but I've seen two sources saying that Yoshinori Koguchi's car is making over 350HP. That's the red Falken Tire 180sx.

Now, I don't doubt that he is making that much power because he's sponsored by a huge company but his list of mods is pretty minimal. Intake, exhaust, FMIC, SS manifold, metal headgasket, fuel pump, injectors, and some electronic boost controller that I forgot. Given, this is a nice little list, but 350HP????

Either alot of people are getting lied to or somebody's doing something way wrong. I'm leaning towards the first guess.

Oh yeah, when I said I've read 2 soucres claiming 350hp, they were Import Racer! (actually it was their spinoff magazine called DRIFTING!) and Import Tuner. You can make your own judgement on the validity of these.

Just thought I'd cite my claims.

It was also in Modified magazine that said he had 350 hp in it, although it did not mention a mod list that I remember.

is it possible the falken tire car has an s15 motor in it? with some great tunning, and those mods i could see close to 350 hp i guess. probably not, but just a thought

BP2000, those look like nice numbers. Should make for some spirited driving! :D I wouldn't worry about the boost issue. Like others have said that turbo is quite small and other T25 cars run into the same thing. It's surprising that Nissan chose such a small turbo that barely gets the job done at stock boost. But, I suppose they needed something to match the reportedly inefficent SMIC right? A turbo upgrade should be on the list of things to do anyway with the other mods you've done.

Very nice numbers for the money you spent. That should be good for a spirited run through town to piss off the ricers.

Ive only lost one race so far.. And it was to a 360 spider. I shoulda asked him what the retail was on one of those. Anyways some of my other kills consist of a 01 trans am, a 95 camaro z28, 02 wrx with a couple bolt ons, a 2001 mustang gt, a newer cobra svt(not sure on year), and a early 90's cobra. I also have pulled a couple of cars away from a 99 lightning rolling from about 45.

My biggest problem is my launches.. I am getting better, but never have driven a turbo car untill the sr. I have the tendncy to bog of the line so i want to look into a rev limiter/stutter box. A good friend of mine has a stand alone in a galant vr4, and his stutter box revs to 5k, then drops to 2k. It holds boost high though, and makes for some of the hardest damn launches. What do you guys do for launching.. It would be nice to have the rev limiter, so you are making full boost, and can get next to perfect launches every time.

The car is simply amazing to drive. I would like to redo my suspension but its decent, and hopefully this winter i will get the 300zx brake conversion done to. All and all, i have never driven a car close to being as much fun as the 240. Alot of my friends all have wrx's and they all want to start building 240's now. I even let my dad drive my car and he was simply amazed how quick it was for a damn 2.0.

I guess my next car will have to be a skyline or i think im going to be a very dissapointed customer.

i already know ill prolly get lectured on street racing but o well... So i was leaving my girlfriends house around 1:30 am, and i come out onto a downtown area, on north ave(route 64). I saw this guy just weaving in and out of traffic in front of me. So i of corase followed, and wanted to catch up. When i caught up, it was a newer 360 yellow spider... Was a very nice car, and had dealer plates on it, the guy watched me come flying up on him, and looked at me, then got off his cell phone. We got caught at a light.... and he reved on me... Im like woah, a ricer..(if he can be considerd a ricer) Well i knew i didn't have a chance, but why not go for it. Its a 6 lane road, and no cars for farther then we can see ahead of us.well i get ready to try and launch... I rev up to about 3500 bouncing the rpms a little, and letting out the clucth a little to try and make boost.. Light changed, and i got a little tire spin and jumped up about half a car on him... I dont think he knew how to drive, but then it didn't matter. I shifted hard into second, and by now he had about half a car on me.. Going into third he had about 3-4 cars on me... No doubt the car was quick. It was so sick to see and hear. it made my night and i had the biggest grin on my face. It was like getting the best gift ever, and you want to call and tell all of your friends about it. That car sounded so dope, but in all honesty its beatable, another 2k into my sr, and i woulda had him np i think. At least in the 1/4. Those cars only seem to get faster when you get going. I wish my friend matt with his 450 rwhp supra woulda been there to kill this guys ego, but o well. I think he was probably pretty impressed at how well i did, but i never caught up to him........

From my perspective it was pretty damn quick. I think there like 12.7's stock. Wasn't the fastest car ive ever seen, but it was cool that the guy was beating the piss outa a 100 thousand dollar plus car. At least it was getting used for what it was built for.

Heh, you should see the clutches we replace on some of the 328's and 348's that come in. They put the fried 3-puck racing clutch that came in my SR to shame. Some guys really do beat the piss out of their ferrari's, and don't just wipe them down with a diaper. But hey it's their money, and Ferrari maintenance ain't cheap as you can image. Timing Belt job on a 360 is 36 hours in the book ($3600 minus parts) and takes over 40. We have to drop the entire engine and we can't just align it using the marks, we have to manually check all the valves to make sure everything is good. And we just had the first Enzo we sold come in for brakes/rotors. ~$45,000 for a full brake service. :ylsuper
