Hey folks,Im working on a hardbody truck with a spun rod bearing. I have engine apart and am hoping to get something in there fairly quickly. Can anyone point me toward stock dyno results of the SOHC vs DOHC??? Not trying to start a war here (bashful grin) but curious as to the torque figures on the two as this is for a 4WD truck.... Thanks for your help,Luke

Dohc's91-98 240sx 155hp 160Tq98+ frontier 143hp 154Tq

By far the hardbody rules the low end torque with 154lbs @ 3600 rpms. The frontier doesn't make peak torque until after 4k. My raised compression has a nice bottem end but I pay an extra $3.00 for that everytime I fill it up with premium.

Thanks lovemy..That confirms the info I was getting from reading/researching. I was thinking of tring a DOHC but sounds like there wouldnt be much to gain for my needs. Thanks again!!

Well considering that newer ones can be had for VERY cheap, it may be. I mean my 95' OBD1 will be sold as a motor set to a friend for $500 (transmission, ecu, harness, longblock and most all ammenities with it). If you ask me, the newer mroe powerful DE is a good cheap alternative sometimes, and it also takes better to mods than a E.

Does anyone have a printout or a link to one of the s13 KA24DE on a dyno? I know the peak values but would like to see the whole range.
