Very nice.. what are your supporting mods? FMIC, exhaust, fuel management? Cams, headwork? Be sure to post some track times :)

BTW pinging and detonation are the same thing :P

Do you have a air/fuel chart to show how well your a/f mixture was tuned? Do you know how well? I.E. was it a little rich, a little lean, or what? I sure would like to make that much power at 5 psi:)

BTW..how is that JGS manifold working for you??

how many pounds of boost can the ka24 hold without beefing up the bottom end???

From what I understand you can run up 10 psi pretty safely as lond as the tuning is good. However I have heard running 20+ psi on stock KA, but then again there is a guy I know who did not tune his car correctly and blew it up a 6 psi. The 10 psi figure is pretty much what I've gathered from reading all the guys on here for the past year or so.

i was going to ask the same thing. also dumb question. when you are tuning the fuel for boost (say with a piggyback like SAFC) how do you know when to start increasing boost? do you have to start driving it and when you see the boost gauge start to go up then you increase it? wouldnt that be bad for the engine cause you would have to run a little lean at least the first time? sorry just thought about this.

His setup is untuned, so no point to get the A/F chart. Although, he might've since it was only an extra $10. AFAIK, he just has the SFMU working the boost side of things for now.

You can tune an SAFC to larger injectors through calculations, then adjust in small increments from there. You can also adjust it to run a bit richer than calculations would say and be safer, and lean it out in small increments. No danger in running a little too lean as long as you tune it with a process with some thought put into it.

You can also run 9psi with a $100 fuel system and at least not blow up the engine :p. Still has some bugs though. Hoping to tune it out to run 9psi safely when Cdigity gets back on the dyno. Gonna look into splitting a couple hours of dyno time between 3 cars: 2 KAt's and 1 SR.

Rob's gonna owe me 5 cheeseburgers if I hit 240rwhp with my current turbo. I think 9psi should do it.

Just thought that I would give the KA enthusiasts alittle something more to be happy about. Here are the dyno specs on my 98 se 240, with an N-SPORT stage one turbo kit, apexi n-1 dual tip exhuast, and lightened flywheel. I still have the stock enternals and I'm running at 7 psi. All praise the KA.:ylsuper -------I couldn't get my spec to attach!! If you want to see them just drop me an e-mail and I send them your way.

p.s.: I can't help but be skeptical about stage 1 NSport turbo and 262rwhp at only 7psi. That'x 314 crank HP. That's a LOT on just 7psi and a t3/t4. Must be incredible tuning. Or bad dyno. But if it's the first, then you should be running low 13's in the 1/4, and if you're really good then 13 flat.

the nsport uses a t04b not a t3/t4 and i doubt it would make anywhere close to 13 flat with that. look at muscle cars. they dont come CLOSE to 13 flat with 300hp crank.

There is a pretty big weight differance between a 240 and a muscle car.

there is a difference but not enough to put a 240 at 7psi to close to 13 flat. the weight difference isent like it use to be back in the day when muscle cars were 400,000,000 tons. im not saying the 240 is not a lot lighter but nissan's in general are not the lightest imports out there.

An S13 240 with 300 crank hp (assuming there are no huge subs/amps in the trunk) and 205 tires should be able to do low 13s to 13 flat. It's all up to driver skill. Obviously driver skill has alimit, which is exactly how you can tell if the dyno was accurate or not, when a good driver does not get expected 1/4 times with the car weight and "dyno" HP he knows of. And I'm not saying at what PSI. I'm sayign at what HP. Which is exactly why I doubt that the dyno numbers are right, or are perhaps the uncorrected ones. There is a difference between corrected SAE and uncorrected HP that one can see on a dyno. An RWD vehicle weiging 2750lbs plus driver should be able to do low 13s (at least 13.3) with 300 crank HP and the appropriate torque (remember that we calculate HP from torque). All I'm syaing is that if he gets those figures on the track, he will be able to have complete confidence in the dyno HP numbers, as will we, in the fact that 262rwhp at 7psi is possible with the NSport or similar setup.

I did have a very reputable shop do the tuning for me. You don't have to believe me if you don't want to but I sent my dyno runs specs to KS_Honda_killer_pm and he is going to post them for me since I can't get them to post for some reason. As you will be able to see It has two runs on it, one at 5psi and the other at 7psi. My car is a 98 and only has 42,000 miles and sits in my garage most of the time, so the motor is strong. Just remember just because you've never seen it doesn't mean that it can't happen...

what about a stage 1 N Sport at about 16 psi on a built engine?

would that do liek 350 crank?

hehe i'm hoping to get that done in a month or so...gotta find someone to dyno tune!!!!

I sent u an email. As I said in it, it's too good to be true, but again there may be different correction factors at play, and I really DO hope that those numbers are the corrected SAE numbers, so the rest of us at least know what to shoot for :)

Hey cdigity, I live in West Haven, CT...was those dyno's done last Saturday? I wanted to check it out, but I had to work. I just bought a MCS14. Since you live in the area, can you let me know of quality places to get and install mods? thanks.

Well, with dynos of 7 psi KA's putting it around 230-240 HP, with a 18% drivetrain loss, that's between about 280-300HP at the crank. The S15 with 250 crank HP pulls a high 13. The S14 and S14 are similar in weight. That's all I have to say about that...

You guys who hang out together and have turbo cars should put you’re money together and get a nice wide band o2 sensor so when all yaw go the dyno together you can share it! Just by using a wb o2 on the dyno could mean an extra 20hp!
