dvd player powers up, but does not play.

just figured i'd take a chance and ask if anybody has fixed the problem i have with the dvd player or if there is a site somewhere regarding the fix of the dvd players.

symptom: unit powers up, you can hear the dvd wanting to load, then nothing happens. the dvd is ejected back out.

unit: audiovox overhead dvd player. 3 1/2 years old.

i called audiovox today and customer service told me there is a flat rate to fix the problem of $185.

i'll be looking to buy a new one for that price. that is just outrageous.
