So my DVD stopped working the other day and keeps spitting the DVDs out. Will not recognize them. I have tried new and old DVDs and nothing. So I ordered a used one from ebay for $100.00 and it is to be delivered today.

How do I take the center console apart to perform the swap? I have seen the FSMs, but I cannot make out much of that. Has anyone done this before? Has a DVD player died on anyone recently?

Sounds like you just had dust on the lense. Did you try to use compressed air and blow it in the slot?

I have not tried that, but I will definitely do so before I take things apart and hopefully saves me the trouble.

Thanks for the suggestion

Well i wasnt sure how to replace the dvd player so i hired an car audio place to replace it for $35. Then i come to find out that that dvd playr i purchased does not work arrgghh! So i was stuck paying the bill! I was able to pay attention and now am able to remove the player myself. Its actually pretty easy. When u remove the cup holder section n u take a peek at open section from the front, there are two tabs that u push in that unclip one side of the panel around the dvd player. Then u start pulling and giggling gently so that the other two tabs come off from the back side. Once off it exposes 4 screws which hold the dvd player. Then u disconnect all three connectors from dvd player n now u can install a new one at ur leisure. Not that if u leave the dvd player out, u will not be able to control ur ac, radio, nav, bluetooth phone, nada.

Anyway i sent the dvd player back n should get a replqcement at no cost if they have one. Otherwise ill have to keep looking.

Btw blowing air in old dvd player did not resolve the issue. I even dismqntled the whole thing n cleaned it out n nothing.
