DVD hack with premium package question

Hey guys I'm looking this up for my dad. I have a 350, so don't know everything about the M's. Anyways all the guides I've seen have said to use the DVD in the glove box, while his actual DVD player is in the center console, glove box is just for the NAV. I'm just wondering if I just have to do the wiring to the DVD in the center console instead of the glove box. I just don't want to take it all apart only to realize I did it to the wrong one. In order to do the hack as in the guide you need both the navigation package and DVD package, and you splice the wires into the Navigation area inside the glove box. I have no idea how to do it if you only have the DVD player in the center console.

It has both the Nav and DVD package. It has a DVD player in the glove box, only for the Nav update, and the main DVD player in the center console. Pretty much what I'm asking is what DVD player do I have to splice into. I don't see how using the one in the glove box makes it work, when the actual DVD is played from the one in the center console.

I'm not 100% about the 06-07 models, mine is 08 hard drive nav. and it was hacked at the center console area but not particularly in the DVD itself... The wiring under the center stereo stack underneath shifter is where mine was hacked into both the speed sensor and parking brake wires!! There is a write up on the 06-07 on here for sure from what I can remember so keep searching if that doesn't help

The DVD player in the dash only plays the nav disks and placing a movie DVD in the would just give you an error as well as the loss of navigation.

The actually DVD player is in the center console, and has nothing to do with the nav hack or the ability play a movie while in motion.

The ability to control the navigation while the vehicle is on is because the car is stopped and speed sensor is disengaged.

The ability to watch movies from the center console DVD player is because the vehicle is stopped and parking brake is engaged.

The nav hack basically installs a switch in-line on the wires that controls the parking brake and the speed sensor, so that flipping a switch makes the nav and DVD think that the car is stopped.

BOTH of these wires run behind the dash into the harness that plugs into the nav DVD player, making it the easiest place to place the splice.
