DVD Deck install, but screen cuts out/ flickers repeatedly

Finally got my car back and all the harnesses so I hooked up my D3

Upon firing up, I noticed something weird..The screen kind of flickers (think of the gray/white horizontal lines that are actually the screen saver) but a lot more of them. And at the same time they flicker and alternate...then it becomes a little snowy (like your tv) and flickers between that and the lines...

Hitting my dash makes the flickering change...and sometimes fixes the problem.

Also when the deck has been on for awhile the problem disappears..

I have tried checking the wires, they all seem to be fine, I've tugged on them and bunched them up but it seems fine...I've reset the deck but that does not seem to help (it actually gave me a blank white screen, and then the same symptoms)

Any help would be great....

Did you ever have the D3 hooked up anywhere else? It doesn't really sound like a wiring problem, but maybe more that it is a bum unit. There's really no wire issue I can think of that would make the screen snowy.
