I painted my last vehicles rims with black duplicolor spray paint. Threw it in the sandblaster, primer, 3 light coats of black, 3 light coats of clear. Came out amazin. Also i rallied the s*** out of the truck and wheeled it on occasion, paint held up pretty good, no large chips, just like 5-10 little 1cm rock chips on every wheel but you couldnt tell(touch up the black with sharpie :P). Just sold that truck and the paints been on the rims for around 9 months.
Now for my 240, my grandpa has painting supply galore and im using his nice paint gun, building a rough frame out of 2x4 outside and putting thick plastic on the roof and sides. I got a big compressor with a long line for the gun. Hopefully there will be a sunny day here around 60 degrees before winter.
Always remember, the more R&D, the more prep work on the car(sanding, fixing dents, bondo, etc), and take time painting, dont rush anything. If you do that it will probably turn out pretty damn good, even if you rattle can it.
