Anyone use these? I saw them on tirerack for 60 bucks a pop for 205/50s. Just was wondering if they were any good

I'm pretty sure these are very new tires. I think Dunlop just introduced these within the last month or two, so it's not likely you'll find many people running them yet. There aren't even any reviews on Tirerack for them yet.

Here's some particularly nauseating marketing crap from Dunlop. Maybe there's something useful buried in there. Hey, it's got 5-Pitch technology, Jointless Band technology, Max Flange Shield and Silicarbon Matrix. That certainly sounds impressive.

"Exotic style enhances your ride."

What the ****? It's a tire!

Anyway, sorry for the mini-rant. I think the short answer is that you may well be the first person on NICO who has this tire if you get it. Maybe Grant has some input on it. I think Tirerack does a fair amount of testing on new products.

This tire came out too late in the season for us to do any testing here at Tire Rack. The jury is still out. As soon as we get some dry weather conditions here in South Bend we will be back on the track testing this Spring.

I haven't been around in a while, but the little I've heard says that they are great tires for the money. Probably stickier than Es100's and will stand up to heat abuse better. Dunlop's been pushing these tires for drifting in Japan, and they seem popular there. I think Yokohama might release a similar tire through Advan, but I haven't heard anything besides rumors. I know they were plannning on releasing a couple of new tires.

Dunlop uses the Direzza for its sponsored cars in D1.chances are, the US version is a different compound. i'd lick to try them, but they don't offer many sizes right now.
