They don't scan for the light itself, they scan the ECU for codes. You have to pass certain ready checks, and your ECU can't be throwing codes, so connecting the light to something else won't help.
Also the whole gauge cluster is run by CAN BUS which is a data stream, so unless you want to open the whole gauge cluster and solder on traces...
What you'll need to do is either have the car tuned correctly, or find someone with less ethics than sense to pass it illegally.
