Yeah boss, if your clock won't even come on you are barking up the wrong tree there. The starter and alternator would have nothing to do with that. Either the battery is completely shot (which I doubt because you tried to jump it, and it won't push start) or you have a relay out.

Check the main relay, ignition relay, etc. Anything that includes the words "ignition" "main" "relay" etc.

Obviously there is no power going to anything if you are denied simple pleasures such as a clock. It takes all of 4v to power that thing.

My buddy had a 95 5.0 Mustang and had the ignition switch and relay go on him. Did the same thing. Funny thing was it would often start if you just effed with the distributor or something, so it was incredibly hard to track the problem down.

let me celar myself up a little bit. the clock on the dash worked, when i took the gauge cluster out some of those little plastic tabs that touch the plugs got all messed up so im thinking thats why the clock wont work. but the backlight for the clock does come on, just not the clock. no backlight for the gauges either but that might be because of that small white box everyone talks about. im pretty sure the battery is s*** tho. its the economy brand, my freind down the street has a brail that we are gonna try tomorrow, if thats not it, ill run through all the relays and fuses AGAIN lol.

By chance did you have your hood open with your hood light on or anything else whil youo were working. If so id almost be willing to bet its your battery. It probably went dead and if they are very old once they go completely dead they never charge up again. ( even if the charger says 100%)

have you tried jump starting it with a friends car, or just swapping the batteries with a friends car? i doubt its the relay, starter wouldnt click, same with the clutch cycle switch (there would be no noise when you try to start it). check the grounds from youre battery too, where they attach to frame. if you havnt jumped the terminals on the starter yet, id try that too, it will take everything out of the equation except starter and battery. rule that out, then back track to the switch.

i would look over lower harness and make sure everything is tight and in the right place...make sure u got 12v to starter when you crank or just jumper a wire from batt to starter to see it it cranks...there should be two wires going to starter, the large wire from batt and a small one from ignition...jumper the one from the ignition....and see if that cranks car...
