dumb question , please help

I want to replace my oil pan gasket. Bought one from the parts store, decided to call nissan to compare prices and they said they don't use a gasket for the ka24e. Now I'm confused. Should I or not use one?

use sealer no gasket needed.

Thanks guys...If you new my parts store, well, lol anyhow I have the motor pulled and a donor going in. I wanted to pull the pan and clean,replace with undented pan etc.
