Ok well I ordered a new shift boot and a e-brake boot, how do I replace them, I searched and came up with nothing helpful. On my 240 I just have to pop up the center counsol (sp?) but the maxima looks a bit harder, its a 96 maxima incase that matters! Thanks in advance!!

i haven't done it myself but i doubt you'd need to get the fsm for a boot...ask Presscott707 - he just changed his.

Looks like the shifter surround is just held in place by spring clips, so I'd just try pulling on the rear of it. If it doesn't pop out, I'm not sure what to say. That FSM illustration sucks.
