Hello guys,

I know that many people say that the OEM head bolts are "stretch bolts".
Question #1: But are they reall ?

Question #2: How is/was you experience with re-used OEM head bolts? (Please state power level of the engine)

best regards,
Schnabualtor

p.s. it is not a money question to re-use them. I simply want to know.

Nothing in the FSM says they have to be replaced. But most head bolts aren't recommended to be reused. I have no experience re-using head bolts as I bought a set of head studs years ago and have been re-using them forever.

I have rebuild a CA18DET for my customer, reusing the factory head bolts without any problem.
