Hi! I just bought a 2006 G35 coupe and the dealership replaced one of the rear shocks before i bought it. My concern is that they may have put the wrong shock on, thinking it was a non-sport model. It sounds ridiculous, but their "mechanics" were scary-stupid. (they forgot to put the nut back on the tensioner pulley on the drive belt and then it came flying off less than 4 hours of owning the car!) So I just want to double check that everything else they touched it what and where it should be

So anyway...Is there a way to determine whether my car has the Sports Suspension vs standard?

Thanks for any insight you guys can give me!

Welcome to NICO!

A quick VIN search will tell you all options on the car. Most 6MT models had the sport option. Another possible tell, is if you car has a spoiler...most likely it's a model with the sport option.

The best clue I know of is the wheel and tire configuration. If the rears are wider than the fronts, it has a sport suspension. Warning! This only works for rear drive models. A G35X has the same size all round.

I looked at a few web sites that claim to decode your VIN for you. They weren't much help. One of them wanted to know the trim level, which is Rara's question. Does anyone have a link to a web site that can give the answer?
