fellas, I bought a 1990 Q45, which I love, from a dude on craigslist, and it runs great. Then I found out he had welded one of the wheels that had a crack in it. I've been riding on my spare forever now (2 months), because the car's got 16" wheels, with a logo that looks like CSL or something in the middle of the wheel, and I don't even know what brand to look for to replace them.

I'm broke as they come right now, (married, and I'm a student at UARK) and I'm looking for cheap alternatives to ordering a new $100 ugly black factory wheel at firestone. Anybody have any advice? I see a lot of folks selling 16" rims that have the same bolt pattern 5x114.3 but I imagine that there's more to it than just those numbers... I would prefer having all four rims the same (no matter where they came from, or how nice they are) so I've thought about buying someone else's used factory rims that have the same bolt pattern, maybe even a different make of car..... Let me know how bad a decision this is, I don't want to have my wheels spin off when my 280 horses are taking off at a stop light. thanks ya'll,

burns

Right now I'm weighing the safety between ridding on a cracked and welded rim or the wimpy temporary spare you're currently driving on. Of course if the spare is actually a wheel(I'd think maybe a luxury line would give an actual wheel and not a doughnut) then obviously you should ride around until you can afford a new set of wheels or find a used or band new replacement.
