Dumb Question: CAn you remove Just Upper Timing Belt Cover?

I really don't feel like taking off my clutch fan to get all of the covers off. I want to run open cam gears..cuz.....well.....it looks bad ***. Call me a ricer and you die;)

you can, but you have to cut a portion out for your CAS to mount to. personally, i don't like the idea of my timing belt being exposed, and would only consider doing so if and only if i had adjustable cam gears.

Yup, your CAS will need something to mount too. Or you can cut the front of the cover to expose the cam gears and still have a spot for the CAS to mount too.

One thing tho: No one answered how to get it off. I removed all the allen screws off the covers but I couldn't get them off. Do I HAVE to remove all of the covers as well as the clutch fan to get just the top cover off.

I do think I will cut it open though. I like that idea.

there's afew bolts on the back that hold it on... did you remove those? you shouldn't have to remove the clutch fan to get the top cover off:)

Yeah got those. The FSM is where I got the idea that I have to remove the fan to get the lower ones off, but there is really no distinction on what to do about the top cover. I'll screw with it later on tonite...too damn hot to worry bout it now!

Give it a couple taps with a ruber mallet.
