Dude, you gotta just keep twisting, pulling, and cussing. It took me forever to get mine off. Just keep going at it, its stuck on there like a mofugger. Get yourself a good pair of vice grips and pull.

i took one of those plumbing tools that will grip itself on to a pipe and then just pushed the hell out of it.. it ripped the rubber of my shifter but it sure as hell got that thing out in 10 minutes... I got a new shifter anyways... so I didn't care if i ruined that one!

BigJohn you know one of my best mechcanical secrets!!! Curse at that mother fu.cker as much as you can. Then if it still doesnt come out cuss more and get more vulgar if you can. That should do the trick man.

Try driving it around for a while to heat it up. The bond seems to be weaker when it's warm. Then, I used an oil filter remover (the kind that has an adjustable rubber strap) to twist it off. You really just need to get mechanical advantage/leverage on the S.O.B. and twist like it's your job!

Wow, all this talk makes me want to go thank the guy I bought my car from. My car had a Momo shift knob on it when I bought it. :)
