I'm still shopping for a G35. The higher mileage ones are pretty affordable. What's the general concensus as to high mileage on these? Or should I say, what is "too" high of mileage? Is it typical to get 200,000 mi out of them w/o major service? (clutch aside)

200k seems reasonable if the owner performs the specified maintenance procedures.

The problem is multifaceted. I think the best answer would depend on how they car was operated. I would rather have a car with 100,000+ miles on it where the driver had driven it civilly than a car with 50,000 miles that had been flogged like a red-headed step child on a daily basis. You're never really going to know how the previous owner treated the car with a used car. Car fax helps, but it is incomplete. 200,000 miles, to me, would mean more, and more expensive repairs were headed your way. Buy it cheap enough and it still might be a bargain.

The one I'm considering is a one owner 100,000 mi. car. I still wouldn't know if it was the afore mentioned step child... but that goes with any used car. I think I'll check it out and meet the owner. That's usually the best clue as to the care of the car. I was more interested in thoughts about higher mileage G35s. In the 944 world, 200,000 mi. motors are considered a little "high", but many push to 300,000. In the vette world, 100,000 mi vette's are a dime a dozen. edit: I should state "with proper maintenance"
