I am installing a set of tein HE's on a S13,

On the rear coilovers at the very bottom where they mount onto the knuckle/spindle it has a large piece that comes off the side. I am just curious which way these are mounted since the stock suspension doesn't have anything like this.Does that offset rubber/metal piece go on so that it faces towards the brake knuckle or does it go on so that it faces towards the middle of the car.

This is what I am talking about.

i have a 95 240sx with tein HE's.....i put it facing the knuckle, i'll try to find if the instructions says anything about it. i'm not sure but as i look at the pic (below) it would seem that the tube will hit the knuckle, if you face it the other way...http://www.eniety.com/pichost/...2.jpgi have experienced no problems with this setup...i have gone autocrossing and still no problems...

Ya i downloaded the english manual for both the s13 & s14 off the webpage but it said nothing about it, guess I will put it facing against the knuckle.

This might help. Someone asked this question a while back on FA.
