I saw a program on the Speed channel about old car commercials. They had one for an old Pontiac GTO, and they were trying to sell it to women...so they were talking about how spacious it is for shopping, etc. Pontiac would probably be sued if they ran that today.

I also like how they advertise that the magnum is 340hp and neglect to mention it's like 4,400 lbs and has 1/4 mi slightly faster than a civic. muhahahaha.

I always thought the 1st generation scion commercials weren't that great, but then again, I didn't like the first generation scions - the 2nd gen one is DOOPPEEEE. feed the need for speed... or looks... i like rice yes i do .

My favorite new one is the Hyindai (I think) commercial where the guy has a car cover that looks like a beat down 1981 Chevy Citation, pulls it off and there's his new car underneath.

I know we aren't honda people, but look at the Accord, isn't it nearing it's 30th USDM Anniversary? The S-body in America had a hell of a run too, from the early 80's to 98. I also heard somewhere that the Altima can trace it's lineage back to the old Datsun 510. The F-150 Commercial may be stupid, but as far as trucks go Ford does make them right. Now if I only had a need for a truck...

I'm afraid that the worst car commercial on TV is the new Jeep commercial where everyone apparently has feces all over their respective faces. I realize that it's supposed to be mud, but I see through it.

The absolute dumbest would be the cheap charokee w/ the hemi engine that the claim as faster than a BMW 325ix and an Audi TT in acceleration, therefore they claim "it has mastered the road." Yeah, you can make any car fast, but it doesn't mean it handles for s***. Nothing that sits that high off the ground can hold the road worth a d***.

i like the jeep liverty renegade comercial where you see a volcano erupting in the background, then this jeep liberty just smash down landing on it's wheels unscathed, then turns on its wipers and drives back towards the volcano.

i also miss the old celica action package "looks fast" comercials where the dog runs smack into the back of the car.

Hahahhaa, yea just saw that one. Was just about to post that, although I think that commercial is more funny than stupid. I couldn't stop laughing at that one. My mom thought I had gone crazy.
