I hate these jerky creatures  ...these raccoons are awful. I'm really pissed. Everyone knows how I baby & pamper my car and always maintain it to make it look brand new. And this dumb animal left McDonald's bag with leftover fries in it and broke the bumper too. I have no idea how I'm gonna keep it away off my car :ohno: :ohno:
I was thinking to call the humane wildlife removal expert A1 Checkmate in town and get rid of them in no time. All my concern is on how much usually does it get charged in replacing the bumper? Any idea?? This is the very first time that I have to replace a part of my car. At least the raccoon paid for it with his life.

Raccoons are super smart. Smarter that cats, dogs, etc. They're actually close to monkeys in their intelligence.

So what happened again? A raccoon borrowed your car for a McDonald's run and left fries and a bag in your passenger seat? That sucks. So you kicked him out and then broke your bumper over his head or what? I feel bad for the poor raccoon. I hope you can get a better handle on your temper, or on your driving (if you hit him while driving, then where did the fries come from? but you didn't say that did you).

It sounds like he's dead now, so do you really need an exterminator? Maybe for the raccoons other family members? Well, I'm glad you're looking into humane ones.

I recently hit a deer. I felt really bad for the animal. I lucked out and didn't have any car damage though.

Okay, you'd like your bumper fixed and wonder how much it costs. Well, it's pretty expensive on a Ferrari and pretty cheap on a Miata. For a Ferrari, the OEM bumper is pretty pricey and so are the aftermarket ones, but they are often made of carbon fiber and such, so they're worth it. For a Miata, there's lots of aftermarket bumpers that can be cheaper than and OEM one. Plus, it's such a common car that you could get a used one from a part out or junk yard.

Of course not just any bumper will fit on any car. You should figure out what you're driving first. And if you want help from others then you should tell them what car you have.

Body shops are pretty expensive because the work is labor intensive. You can save a lot of $$ by doing most of the work yourself. The FSM will have instruction for removal. Check our link to Service Manuals at the top of this page.

Welcome to NICO and drive safe!

Perhaps your switching to slightly less appetizing Burger King fries might result in the raccoon dining elsewhere? :) j/k.

Unless you park your car in a sealed garage, you're going to risk visits by wild animals, including birds doing target practice or raccoons looking for a comfortable eating area. That's reality. And you can't kill 'em all. If you're looking for ways to minimize the chances of animal encounters while parking outdoors, you might consider investing in a car cover. At the very least try to park in an area farther away from where the raccoon likes to hangs out (where you're parking now) or farther from an animal's food source (like dumpsters). I highly doubt the animal is singling out your car specifically just to annoy you. Good luck.
