Im getting ready to do an oil change on my 1990 SE. I bought the car about 2700 miles ago from an auction, I have no clue what oil was used before or even if it was synthetic, or dino-paste. Id like to use Mobil-1 Synthetic. If there was conventional oil in the car, would adding a synthetic cause problems?

If so, what is my best course of action?

Thanks,Matt

if your gaskets and/or seals have dirt on them, switching to synthetic will clean the dirt out and thus cause leaks, I just use castrol gtx, and either a nissan factory filter, or a k&n filter.

beware of fram.
