Hi folks. I'm new here. Poormanq45 referred me from another forum for this question. I have an 04 Armada and I would like to change out the head unit but I don't want to lose my rear control panel. I've seen these new units with dual zone controls for the rear audio. Has anyone tried to integrate one of these and retain the stock rear control panel?

DO you have the navigation system?

The Bose system?

You can identify the Bose system easily. There will be Bose labels either on the Head Unit, or on the speaker grills.

Identifying the navigation system is easy, I don't think I need to explan that one

No Bose, no nav. Just standard SE 6 disc.

Does your current "stock" set up have the dual zone?

Either way, I'd suggest ging to CC or BB and asking them if it's possible to install an aftermarket DZ HU and what it would take. Some won't know and some will most liekly blow you off if they think you aren't going to buy, but it's worth a try.

Sorry, but I have no experience with DZ HU's.

Yes, there is a control panel in the roof console which allows the rear seat to use wireless headphones and listen to a different source than the front seat.

I guess I could talk to BB but I'm just not interested in buying any car audio from them. Their prices are outrageous. And I have a side business installing auto electronics myself. But I haven't found anybody who has any experience with dual zone controls.
