I have a 93TT with 120K miles. I have what appears to be white or very light colored gray smoke coming out of both exhaust. There is a slight oil smell associated with it. After a few minutes of warming up the smoke dissipates. Some morning it takes longer to clear than others. It seems to smoke more if the out side temp is cooler. It also smokes under the following conditions. After sitting several minutes, it smokes after a restart. If I due a rapid acceleration or down shift putting the engine under a load, it puffs smoke. Sometimes when I come to a stop, it smokes. Other than that, It's a strong running Z.

I've had the car appx 8 months. It had the following mods: Larger inner cooler, high flow intake, Stillen straight pipes (no cats), ECU chip, Apex I SAFC2 Air Flow Controller. and a PRofec B-Spec2 boost controllercontroller

Would that be turbo replacements or can the seals be replaced?

The turbo can be rebuilt yes, there are kits for most turbo's you can buy, I dont know much about 300zx's but Im shure there is kits to rebuild the stockers. i would check and make shure thats your problem first though.

pull the pipe going from the turbo to the I/C on each side and look for oil, if you got oil tracks the turbo oil seals are shot, if not you might have leaky stem seals

Overfilling the oil or clogged pcv valves can also result in the symptoms you are describing. Any idea if the pcv's have ever been changed and how much oil are you putting in at an oil change?

Silver is on to something common in any turbo car. The PCV system handles a lot more and warmer oil residue going through the system that means a lot more build up and more particles overtime, just a fact. Seals will exhibit this pressure internally and oil will "push past" the seal and burn off too. If your oil pressure is decent then it may just be a little burning from sitting so long and that would be in perfect reason to it becoming less and less over time. Make sure that other seals are not damaged though from the initial sitting, basically checking for obvious signs of past leakage.

Although it may be getting better you have some options to mess with-Oil Changes-Oil Flush-Cleaning the PCV system (a little more time consuming)

I worked on a turbo volvo where the PCV kept blowing out the O rings and then burning oil with a leak to accompany it. I did a motor flush (which is not as complicated as it sounds) and cleaned the PVC lines. This took away the oil blow by completely and it was good.

The mixture of sitting and oil build up along with that pressure may have damaged the rings, so keep an eye out. If nothing else consider an oil change at a minimum and an engine flush is like 30minutes which can really really help about 10 times more.

Any questions, let me know
