im thinking about ripping out my dash and installing dual screens that will be stacked - one will be just for navigation and the other just for DVD's.

dont suggest stuff about why not just get one... thats not what im asking.

does anyone know of a good navigation system and dvd player that would work together?

pioneer, alpine, ect.

so far im looking at pioneers...

the best combo (IMO) would be to put the DVD on top so everyone could see it easier. The navi can go on the bottom cuz that one is basically just for me anyway and the people in the back wont have to worry about the knob getting in the way.

I am afraid that glare might be an issue for the top screen ...Also, define "working together", what kind of interaction do you expect from the two units?

There was a guy on these forums who was in the process of building his system and I got him to do the dual screen setup. I always recommend Pioneer or Alpine, I've never been a fan of Kenwood. I don't think you'd be able to get the navigation screen put on a different monitor anyway, so movies would have to be displayed on the upper. This gives you the benefit, although illegal, to play movies up front while the vehicle is in motion. There are kits out there to put a screen where the factory nav screen goes.

I personally don't use anything but ALPINE anymore for head units. Optimally it would be best to use the factory navigation like I have with the DVD player in the double din location.

I wouldn't worry about people not seeing it...cuz you can split the DVD signal and put in some headrest DVD units.

Thats my plans for the future... I have the stereo set up and DVD player. I just needs head rests now.
