I'd just do something like this

"all the fastest trucks are running dual filters"

The more air you can get into the motor providing you have the ability to add fuel proportuneatly the faster you can go!

Here's the problem...the VQ35HR and the VQ37 use dual MAFs, dual throttle bodies, and a dual inlet plenum. You would need a different ECU to tune everything....$$

It would only be worth the money if you wanted to go high boost...

YEP, I was out of duct tape. The tubing came with a EGR port precut. I had long ago bypassed the EGR so I didn't need the port and it was too big for a nitrous nozzle.

Dual filters will still give you more air and possibly more HP is you can add and burn more fuel.

At the track I used dryer ducting to run the filters out the fog light holes in the bumper. On the street it worked fine. I cut out the plastic fender liners on both sides. I have Pace Setter longtube headers jet hot coated inside and out. You could touch the headers with your bare hands a min after the motor was off.

But whatever you think Mr 19 posts

All that counts is the WOT air temp in plenum/plenums and the pressure drop from 14.7psi atmospheric. At WOT the plenum pressure is still >13.9 psi at redline.

Why not measure both and see if you can beat the teams of factory engineers with their millions of dollars budget.

Don't give me that crap! The manufacturer weighs the cost benefit of engine design. Their million dollar budget allows them to design systems that will do the job, provide airflow into the engine in this case, but as cheaply as possible. An aftermarket part does not have this constraint (to a point).

Just remember the case of the Ford Pinto. Ford's engineers knew that a $5.80 part would make the car safer when in a rear-end collision. However, they had 2 million Pinto's sold...a $5 part would be quite an expensive fix! They are in the business to make money first.

SEMA is a big waste of time for you hu

I backed up my modifications with testing at the track where it counts.

The truck ran a 15.7 @80 mph when I bought it in July of 2004 and was running a 14.0 @ 98 mph when I sold it in July of 2007. That was with the transmission slipping I'm sure had I kept the truck I would have saw high 13's this winter. Looks like I beat the engineers pretty badly.

Air temp is important but once it makes it to the intake manifold it warms up pretty quickly.

If the million dollar engineering budget was for performance aftermarket parts would not exist.
