I know a very good muffler shop and we were talking and he said that he could make a very good sounding dual exhaust for my M? He said he could run the pipes on both sides unlike the current muffler just on the left! I wanted to take this up with the forum??? Do you think it would look right?? If i had photoshop i would do it and see but i don't?? He said it would sound mean as h***, and i am sure. The guy said he did one on a Q45 and it almost sounded like a Mustang but he could make it quieter if i wanted. I am not much an expert with exhaust...so maybe someone could help me out

Yes...anyone...this is a great suggestion! I think it would look awsome. You would have to cut out a notch of the bottom right to match the notch on the left for it to look right. I've wanted to do this since I bought my M a few months ago. I miss how mean my TL-S looked from the back with my 3.5" dual pipes out the back!

DO IT!

It would be a very complex setup. I got under my car to take a look at that RPM activated spring valve on the stock exhaust and got to thinking about what it would take to do a dual setup. There seems to be a lot of "stuff" blocking the way. I'm sure you could do it, but I don't know if the increase in sound would make a difference over the standard two on the left approach. Also, you might be creating more back pressure depending on how you have to get the exhaust to the right side... give it a go and definately post your results.

Well i think what the welder guys was talking about was not so much from the catback...but redirecting coming off back...i guess resinator or whatever that is....yes to me it sounds like alot of work and i want something that aint going to fall off on the highway somewhere...i appreciate all the input....i have some thinking to do....i have a little 4banger i use as my run around car and i might let him do some work on that first and see how it turns out

Unless someone beats me to it...I am for sure doing a dual exhaust with split tips on both sides. Kind of like the M3s exhaust setup. It would be bad a$$!! Getting more Ponies + Better Gas MPG + Looks = Sweetness! Another thing for the dyno to prove. First person to do this has to post pics! Cheers, KTW

Take a look at this one with dual exhaust. It has the E55 look with the tips at the far corners of the bumper. This one is sweet.MrMark, is this the kit your getting next?
