I tried searching for this, but came up empty. Does anyone have an open throttle compression test number for the Dual 248's? I installed mine, and no matter how I play with cam timing I am getting 150psi. Before I was getting 180. I wouldn't think 8 little degrees could make that difference, so I assume timing is still off. So if any of you can give me a number I would appreciate it.

That compression is about expected, remember by increasing your duration you are shifting your effective compression ratio.

It runs, right?

High compression (~11.1:1 cr) ka24's with medium duration (270-280 degrees) cams only put out about 190 psi, static. With stock cams they put out well over 200.

Also just a bit can be attributed to less than optimal cam timing without adjustable gears.

Would it be worth investing in getting the cam redrilled, you think?

Also, don't know if it runs. Still working out some details.

You could make some of your own adjustable cam gears. Get an extra set and access to a drill press (if you dont have your own). It is not to difficult to mark them out and drill for whatever you want, after confirming with various mock ups you can mark your settings with a punch label or engraver.

You will need a few general shop tools and the drill press, thats about it.

Yeah, but I don't have most of them, and my shop couldn't charge more than 20 bux for it, I would think. I will probably just get it done. I would think it would help some of the mileage issues that others have had.
