I'm in the middle of installing a new mishimoto rad and ISIS E-Fans, I had my last E-fan on a constant (always on) but I only had one, now I have 2 I am thinking maybe I should hook up a simple switch to turn one or both of them on and off. What do you guys and gals think?!

Both constant
One constant one adjustable
Both adjustable

Cheers

E-fans are not designed to be on at all times...

Get a thermal switch.

You can buy the factory thermal switch for an 89-90 S13 still in the hose from Nissan. I use one for my e-fan and it's worked like a charm over the years.

I dont understand why people wire switches into fans. Thats incredibly lazy and not needed. Why not just wire it up to a relay or thermo switch? Better yet why not use a fan controller?

Theres no point in having the fans on at all times. Hell mine only come on when the cars been sitting for 15-20 minutes when its hot out.

Currently, I am tapped into the ac relay, the fans come on by themselves after about 10mins but then don't turn off. Therefore I was going to use a switch so they don't constantly run.

Thermal switch and relays or a dual fan controller. Or put the OEM fan back on because it moves more air anyhow.

Looking for a DIF controller, everyone seems to be sold out.

I just wired mine up to switches with relays, can't justify the money for a fan controller. Was planning to just use the stock clutch fan but the shroud wont fit with a koyo (even though they say it will)

Weird, mine fits.
I've never heard of someone having a problem with the stock shroud on a Koyo.

Yeah idk, I squeezed it in there (hehe) and the fan rubbed the shroud badly, maybe its different for S14's? :gotme

Or maybe my rad support is slightly out of line, the car was wrecked at one point.

I used something like this

And used a Altima fan temp switch wired as a ground side switch to a relay.

The other fan was switched on a relay also.

I am also running the ISIS fans and will be wiring a thermostatic switch + relays in for the fans. I picked up the switch at Advanced Auto Parts for $28 bucks (part number 226206). It turns the fans on at 185°F. It comes with 1 relay (30amp max). You will need a second relay for the second fan. The switch will trigger both relays though, or you can run a switch to the second.
