Dual cam exhaust Q's

Sorry for the newbie question but how do you skip 3 1/2 teeth
to have the camshaft at top dead center, how do you skip half of a teeth?

I believe it is 4 teeth. Your talking about putting a 248 exhaust cam on the intake side right?

yup! well on another forum (http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/ka24d ... -swap.html) they were saying how 4 teeth puts the powerband to high for the ka and how 3 makes it sluggish in the higher rpm and 3 1/2 was the best for all around. so knowl i tried turning the motor and all i heard was a thumping and clinging noise im guessing i hit some valves right. so im Pi$$d off!

I have never read anything about doing 3 teeth before. The best option is to re-drill the cam gear which there is a write up on here how to do it. I never looked into to that much. Hope you didn't f*** some s*** up, good luck.

That sucks, a good rule is to always turn the engine over by hand to make sure nothing hits.

Im sorry man but i lold so fkn hard when i read this. But uh your probly guna be replacing valves.
