I dont know how you would choose to mount it but trail gear I know makes a battery box that you can simply bolt down to the floor or even weld in place wherever you want. The only downside I see to this is that it only fits one type of battery, but maybe thats the one you want to use.

As far as I have been able to see the only other setup was done by GPG awhile ago on npora, here are the pics and his words

Rear-mounted dual battery. This battery is dedicated to the winch. Winch sits on a multi-mount cradle so it can be used either front or rear. Battery is in an ABS plastic box and is H-bracketed to the frame so it won't slip.

It's getting crowded in here! You see the battery and winch cable emerge from the firewall and the battery cable hit the Pac-200 Isolator. You can also see the full-size ARB compressor.

Isolator is next to the main battery. The isolator essentially protects you from draining both batteries. When the truck starts, power from the alternator goes to the main battery. Flip the cabin switch on and you are also charging the rear (auxiliary) battery. Eventually both will be charged 100% and you can flip the cabin switch off. With the switch off, the alternator will simply charge the main battery while the rear hangs out waiting to be used. When you use the winch, it will tap the rear battery since it is directly connected to the rear battery. At that point you can flip the cabin switch to start recharging the rear.

This has the additional benefit of providing the ability to jump yourself. If there's any charge left in the main battery, flipping the cabin switch will allow you to start the truck via the auxiliary. If the main is totally drained, you can jump yourself by simply connecting the terminals on the isolator. No need to lug around an expensive and heavy jump starter.
