ok so my car runs like crap, and i'm a little confused cause there could be so many things wrong with it. I pulled out the DTC codes yesterday and this is what i got. MAF circuit, coolant temp sensor circuit, and Idle air control circuit. all these can potentially make my car run like ****in crap. I tested the MAF with my voltmeter and it seems to be within specifications, I think the coolant temp sensor is bad it looks like it got coolant on it. and the idle air im not really worrying about right now, I think i need a new cap and rotor as well, i have 120k miles. but the thing im wondering is why did it give me the MAF code? Im guessing its corrosion of the wiring to the computer from the MAF since i tested the MAF and it seems good. I hate doing wiring and electrical, does ne1 know how much a shop would charge for this kind of service?

Since u checked out the MAF, it might simply be an electrical connection from the plug (corrosion/loose). might wanna clean it wif brake/electrical contact cleaner. coolant temp sensor supposed to be exposed to the coolant (or are u talking about coolant leaking thru the sensor & into the electrial plug).

easy test w/out knowing the exact specs: take an ohm reading, pull the sensor & place in boiling water, wait a few min, then take another ohm reading.

resistance readings will decrease as the sensor gets hotter (from what i can recall;hope i didn't get this backwards).

when putting sensor back on, i dunno about using teflon tape on the threads, since it seems that the sensor uses the engine block as a ground. can some1 else confirm this? (i, too am inexperienced w/ electrical).

ya should research into getting those idle air crap outta the way. maybe a vaccuum leak/carbon buildup/etc... it sure will make your car run like shizzle...
