I've been having problems with my engine missing and now the DTC code for the knock sensor is on. I've downloaded the service manual but I can't find where the knock sensor is located. Is it hard to get to. I'm sure this has been covered before in this forum but I can't seem to find it. Could someone please send me a link? I just replaced the plugs again - ( I hadn't found this forum before I put bosch plugs in it! After reading in this forum I found out bosch was bad! They burned the tips off in less than 15K. Repaced them with OEM but car still runs rough. Can there be other things that make the knock sensor trigger the DTC or is it just a bad sensor or wire?

Also, my power tilt steering wheel stopped going up or down - (it still goes in and out), does anyone know how to fix this?

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Search in Infiniti Online Mechanic for a post on how to get to knock sensors without removing the plenum. Of course, since one usually replaces the harness also, don't know how valuable this particular tip is.

Probably need to clean your contact strips for your wheel. Usually not a problem on FY33.

The TSB are available at http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti/ and there are a lot of them.

Nice t model.

The K/S are not hard to change-they look it-but they are not. Both K/S and the harness are about $350 and I was quoted $1000 for labor at T-3. However, I did it my self in about 3 hours look for my write up in the Infiniti online mechanic. Good luck!

Which T3 facility [and service writer] quoted you $1000 for labor to JUST change KS and harness?

Even chain guides on early Q don't cost that much labor. I cannot think of any individual Q job that cost that much labor other than an engine swap?

$1000 labor is 13.3 hours of labor!

T3 charges ~ $525 [7 hours] to pull plenums on early Q and less on Q41.

Less on a Y33? The 4.5 seems much easier to pull to me.

It was actually labor and parts, the quote on the phone was "about $1000"Sorry for the confusion.
