DTC B1018 - air bag sensor

Hello everyone - great to be part of the forum.

Just found out my passenger side air bag sensor has failed and they need to replace the entire seat. Any ideas on a cheaper fix? Can I just turn off the sensor and have the airbag always on?

Any input or advice would help.

Welcome to the forum.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend bypassing the sensor as if you have a small person up front, it may hurt them if there was an impact.

I'm not aware of any other way to avoid that repair but perhaps someone else will chime in soon.
