What values are people using for DSM 450cc Injectors?

I don't have a real time ECU like Nistune, I have to write the K and Null Value with the car off, start up test, check... repeat if wrong.

I'm currently running:

K = 0158
Null = 40

I plugged the stock to 450cc change into Nistune and came up with a K of 0150.

http://injector-rehab.com/kbse/lag.htm

Website above shows lag time (null) of the DSM injectors at 14 volts as .45 for the DSM blue tops and .53 for the black tops. I'm guessing that's 45 and 53 for your purposes.

After my initial post I decided I better figure this stuff out or else I'm toast. I used the same link and made my own calculations, that way I wouldn't rely on Live Edit, romedit or tunerpro, etc.

I Did all my calculations in excel

Code: Select all

Injector K Value
AFR HP Z32 HP	Hp
190 480 0.395833333

Stock CC DSM CC INJ
370 450 0.822222222

K K*INJ K*INJ/HP
183 150 380 DEC
B7 96 17C HEX

Code: Select all

Injectory Latency
voltage 10 11 12 13 14 15
latency (ms) 1.11 0.95 0.82 0.67 0.53 0.42
diff (ms) 0.16 0.13 0.15 0.14 0.11 0.138V avg
I took a stage 1 map from veilislide (i want a better company), loaded it into tunerpro which will convert to "us", typed in my K constant and typed in injector latency for 14v (530). Adjusted the voltage step to the average i calculated (138) and then scaled my TP maps by the calculated INJ cell (82%).

Adjusted the AFM table for the z32 MAF and loaded the map on my romulator.

Everything is working O.K. except for two issues.

1) When I put the clutch in my car wants to stall out (goes rich/floods the motor). I'm going to look for a vacuum leak, I changed the O2 sensor, checked TPS (0.42v-4.4v) and changed plugs (stock w/1.1mm gap).

2) When I let the car idle and it's warmed up, my afr's will increase from 14-15-16-17-18....

I ordered a new wideband sensor, should get that this or next week which will give me comfort my afr's are correct and hitting the target.

With this tune, at 10psi I was at 11.2afr and 1700egt, I was told my wideband o2 is reading rich...

I'm post whoring, mbmbmb23, can you load up nistune, input z32 maf and tell me what your K constant it?

450cc injectors with Zmaf, K = 394 (hex = 018A)

I added the MAF first, then the injectors and it came out to 395. Did it the other way around and it came out to 394. Probably doesn't matter much, I went with 394.

I have an OEM spec upboost Impul tuned .bin if you want me to email it to you (with Zmaf and 450's added to it if you want). I'd love to take a look at that Veilside .bin you have also.

1700EGT as in exhaust gast temp of 1,700 degrees Fahrenheit? Isn't that a bit high for running rich?

So I'm off by 14 DEC in my K calculation, I don't think I completely understand calculating K when changing to Z32 MAF. I divided by the modified ratio but I don't think that's right...

Send me an email, [email protected] with the raw bin and a nistune modified z32 & DSM 450cc Blue (530μs latency at 14v) and I"ll send you my veilislide bin... I have all the bin's i've collected online, http://roast.zm-eng.com ... I won't post the Impul tune unless you want me to.

I think it's high, but I'm running stock plugs at 1.1mm, it'll burn hot... I wasn't trying to tune for power, I was trying to tune to pass emissions AND more importantly, dial in my injectors...

One more thing that's really strange.

On cold start, it's perfect until the thermostat opens, when I put the clutch in from deceleration (while still warming up), idle holds and at a decent afr, when the engine's warm, and i put the clutch in to stop at a traffic light, it stalls out!

Have you tried downloading Nistune and using that to tweak the .BIN? There are all kinds of tables you can tweak that possibly may help fix that problem (Idle/Decel Neutral RPM Timing for example).

This is fun to read. All of this ROM tuning lingo is like you're speaking in foreign tongues, LOL.
