ok so the rail side of the dsm injectors is larger than the ka-e injectors. should i force them in there? or bore out the rail slightly? i tried to bore my stock rail today but dammit if i didnt overdo it haha ill pick up another rail in the morning no big deal. AND did anyone notice that the dsms are about 1/16" shorter than the ka-e's? how do i compensate for that?

thanks a lot guysstevo

well i got a new rail and ima just slide them in and see how well they seat. they go in but not enough to touch the larger o ring that seats against the rail. I guess if they barely fit then it should be a sweet seal on the primary Oring. That should also fix the problem with them not being as long, as the rail will now put pressure on the injectors to stay down in.

cant believe no one chimed in.... o well. thanks guys

what are you using for management? did you upgrade your pump? is this for a turbo app? if youre running a "custom" fuel rail, how do you plan on matching it to the ka-e intake manifold? if youre asking about compensating for the injector size, i would think that the only thing that effects the height of the units is the length of the connectors going in the top.

SAFC II for management and an Innovate LM1 wideband with datalogging. DSM 450cc low impedance injectors wired with resistor box. Garrett T3 turbo with custom mild steel log type manifold. Ebay front mount intecooler. 92 Supra recirculation valve. Walbro 255lp fuel pump. Stock KA24E with 130k miles. And other various odds and ends to make her decent.

I am somewhat reserved with the fuel injection system, as I don't want to have an engine fire. I found another rail from my friends 240sx junkyard haha and Im gonna try fitting it tomorrow morning with no modification. I just hope the top O-ring on the injectors is enough to prevent leakage without help from the O-ring that cushions the rail. I'll post how it works.
