Anyone buying one?

I have a TigerDirect gift card, so assuming they get some units in on the 28th, I'll be ordering mine.

I don't like the colors, but it seems like a larger screen would be nice for text-heavy RPG's. I really just want it for DQIX, and because I need a new DS anyway.

Portability doesn't bother me, I always carry my portables around in a backpack anyway. Plenty of room in there.

I'm going to get Bronze, I don't like the Burgundy.

Definitely NOT buying one. One of the best things about the DS is that it fits in my pocket easily. And I don't want a bigger screen without a resolution increase. And I have no problem reading text on the DSi screen. Oh, and the launch colors for it suck balls.

I'll wait for the 3DS, thanks.

I have an expensive summer coming up so when summer is over I will definitely be buying one. The crappy colors can be easily solved by buying a case so no biggie. I love playing my DS but like you said, it's hard to read text in a small screen. This DSI XL will make me play my DS games again.

I need to put my Zelda DS away for safe keeping so this one will do very well in it's place.

Aliasing is only going to get worse with a larger screen at the same resolution.

My other big problem with buying an XL is that downloadable nintendo games are tied to a single console, not a broad account. So the games I've purchased on my DSi wouldn't carry over. The XL would be more appealing if Nintendo had an account-based system like Sony and MS so I could transfer my purchases to the new machine. Of course, that would simplify Wii/DSi points as well, but Nintendo is stubbornly stuck in the 17th century when it comes to online support. I love my Wii and my DSi, but I wish Nintendo would wake the hell up and make things simple AT LEAST on the store side of their online services.
