Some pics here unless anyone can host them better: http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/5559282

Tank is just jerry rigged there as a test (obviously!) and will be moved to the boot for final install, just leaving it there so I can spin it over every week to keep some oil in the engine. Took nearly 10 litres to fill the whole system before any started returning All looks OK though, pressure comes up quick and no leaks first time which was good. Just got loads of clipping and tidying up to do then get onto the cooling stuff (that wooden board is a mock-up of the radiator).

Oh man, that's awesome!

Wish I could afford all the extra nice bits like what you're doing with your setup! Those braided hoses look like some serious duty stuff!

That's one monster tank. Where's a good spot in the Z32 to put it? I'm planning on doing a dry sump as well but haven't searched around for a good spot for the tank yet.

On the SWB at the very rear LHS of the boot. I'm going to cut a hole in the floor and then sink the tank 1/2 way through.

Sounds good john!Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you put a nice secure sealed firewall between the boot and the cabin.

We had a really nasty accident this weekend at Castle Coome when the Whifbitz RX7FC popped a fuel hose of his swirl pot. He didn't have a fire wall and it sprayed vapourised fuel into the cabin then ingulfed it with flames. Took 4 foam fire extinguishers to put it out, + the one in the car.

Luckily the driver/passanger got out okey. But could have been really bad.

Same for anything flamable in the boot i think.

Is the feed lines to that system complete, because it doesn't look like its going to the main oil galley where the stock oil filter went on what did you do exactly?

John,

Are the parts to build another one of these setups available? I'm considering going to dry sump and if you already did the homework...I'm interested!! Are you willing to share how much $$$ you've invested in the pan, pump, and crank pulley setup?

what did you use for the oil bypass relief valve, is it custome or universal. i have been looking for one . save time than trying to modify stock one.

Sorry for the late reply. Not been on here much recently, busy with doign up the house!
The pulleys and pump were from www.paceproducts.co.uk. The pump is their off-the shelf gear pump, the pulleys were custom but they should have the drawings on file.
The pulleys are designed to run only the alternator and the oil pump, I used electric water and PAS pumps so you may need to look into that.
Pump mount and sump were custom parts I did but are very specific to my installation, chances are they would not work for anyone else.
Rough prices were:
Pump £700UK
Pulleys £250UK
Pan / Mount £not sure, just labour time really.
Filter head £75UK
Plumbing - Don't forget to cost for this! All those -16 parts are expensive! Probably about £500UK

Not sure what you mean by oil bypass valve, I don't have one in my system.

not sure but by the looks of it it looks like the aluminum distribution block for oil lines in this pic. under your hand about 1.5 feet.

Must have been havng brain fade when I typed that last post, the (pressure control) bypass is integral to thepump.
The block in the pic is a thermostat that bypasses the cooler when the oil is <80°C, its a mocal item with -16 fittings.

good to know. for my vh45 i made a plate that got rid of stock oil filter mount. and it had a bypass valve built into it.( in case oil filter became clogged)
i bought a canton racing oil filter. and will not have bypass valve. but only using for drag racing so i should be alright.
thanks for the info.
