Hi guys,

1994 Q45.

Busted a wire in the MAF connector ("stupid MAF is going bad. jiggle-jiggle-jiggle. OH NOES") and drove home about three miles, spewing smoke, stalling, playing shifter games to keep from stalling, etc.

Yeah, I know, not good.

Replaced the MAF and the connector. Car now runs *really* rough. Doesn't like to rev over 4k, hesitates, etc.

Any suggestions on where to start (besides a consult)? Might there be a quick and inexpensive fix? I have a duplicate, running well, Q45 for testing for busted parts, settings, voltages.

Thanks,

- John

Known good MAF? Check connectors? New design?

Yup, know good. Have swapped them between cars to test.

Connectors seem fine (grounds and ohms are same on each vehicle - can't really check voltages while running, since car stops if you unplug the MAF).

Wouldn't hurt to check the CAS (CPS) connector, too. It gets iffy like the MAF connector. Might reset the ECU by unplugging the battery for several minutes.

Dunno, just suggestions.

I second this comment. Been there done that... T3 replaced the CAS.

Gonna check the CAS tonight.

I did ohm out the injectors, suspecting that might be a cause, but they are all 11-13 ohms each.

Autozone will run a free consult (so I'm told). Would that tell me anything of use (besides the fact my Knock Sensor is toast)?

If your Autozone has a Consult and a tech that know how to run it, I guarantee it is the only one in the world.
