I read a thread a few months ago about a guy that planned on driving his s13 well over 1000 miles in one trip and it seemed like everyone doubted him or more so the car. Just here to say I just drove my s13 with 150k miles from Central, PA to Dallas, TX in about 2days and the only trouble I had was a flat tire which was caused by running over a huge chunk of rubber from an 18 wheeler..oh and i also poured chochlate shake every where and now the car smells pretty dank

I plan on making the trip back to PA in august as well as driving the car to and from work everyday while I'm in Dallas.. lets see how this KA holds up.

I don't see whats the big deal.

The past two christmas's I drove my s13 down to florida from ohio and its 960miles door to door. Both times I changed my oil before I left and just after I got home lol.

The first time I had about 180K on it, this time it had about 205K on it. Both times with my ka24e.

Couple of years ago I drove my 90 maxima to chicago and from there to wisconsin and then back to ohio, I did 1200 miles in two days. That was a trip.

Its a nissan. If it has oil in it and its not gushing fluids, it'll get you there comfortably.

I've been daily driving my SR for 4 years

I just took it for a 500 mile trip over the summer, and multiple 350 mile one way trips in the past 2 months

When I first put the sr in my car I put just north of 1000 miles on it in less than a week, the only issue I had was it likes to run just a little over 200 degrees while cruising the interstate at ~75 mph when it is 80+ degrees. V mount and oil cooler setup coming sometime this summer to eliminate this little annoyance.

Stock sr with a front mount, exhaust, and a koyo(or ebay special) radiator with the stock belt driven fan and shroud is a good start.

well, the "comfortably" part is debatable. 250 miles on saturday and my back was a little upset with me, and that's with s14 seats, mine having the lumbar support.

but i've owned nothing but nissans, as long as you don't buy s***boxes and maintain them properly, they'll never give you trouble.

I guess I was also meaning no worrying about breaking down.

Speaking of driving I'm actually leaving to pick up an rb25 in Michigan and it'll be about 500 miles round trip. sweet.

With the mods i have on my car i don't think i want to do more than a 250 mile drive ,but i am quite a bit older than your average 240 driver.

Got you all beat so far. I went from Savannah, Georgia to Seattle, WA in my 240. Only issue I had was my fan clutch crapping out on me when I got to CA.

You can get the shroud from enjuku for about $100, and you could probably find a fan in the classifieds or on ebay. The ka fan might work, but I haven't taken the time to try it to see if it would as my bov occupies some real estate that the shroud and fan would need.

That was me haha, anyways. To update, I was too worried about a blown injector, wheel bearing, or my welded diff exploding on me on the highway. So I didn't take it because I didn't want to be stranded lol So I ended up taking my friends prelude on the highway. Much better gas milage, it's a honda

I drove close to 1000 miles in a little over a week, all over the metroplex, 150ish miles of that being driven hard on a road course. It was a lot for me, I very rarely drive that much. The car handled it great, though.

philosophy goes as long as you maintain it, it should last.

any car can go the distance. it all the matter of how well taken care of it is. not like some ghetto fab work but instead make brackets, weld stuff, and so on. that and if the car does not have common problems.

mercedes = electricalGM (Chevy) = Fuel pumpland rover = everything

and so on >.> just average experience.
