My brother's buddy just got an STi. He let my drive it last night. It has a few mods. It felt quicker than my brothers EVO 8 by alot. I will try to get some pics. When I first got in and drove I kept hitting the rev limiter. I was like what the heck?/? I noticed it was only reving to 5k. Apparently the car has a built in adjustable rev limiter. So I moved it up to the appropriate 7k and let her rip. Big difference. The EVO handles way better than the STi by the way.

I also raced the EVO last night at Edgewater. I think it is just my driving but I could only get 14.3 @ 95MPH. My 60 ft. times were 1.9 sec. Meh, I am not a race car driver I guess.

Hey, man. You know the more power you make, the harder it is to push the gas pedal, right?

You sound like the guy who thought taking the back plate that sits behind the gas pedal would make his car go faster. That post was in the hall of shame worst posts thread.

Yep.

And the harder you press the pedal, the more power you make.

I've been doing a lot of leg presses lately, and it has upped my ka's whp to 300.

I think you guys missed the point...he is saying in real drag racing, while it might be easy to push the pedal down, its hard to do so with the car not jetting sideways into the wall...top fuel dragsters actualy never totaly let the rear end hook up the entire way down the track.

Drag racing your stock KA is easy...Drag racing a real purpous built drag car competitively is no where close.

meh, even top fuel/funny car takes maybe 10% of what wrc and f1 take

you even listen to pro drag racers, every time ive heard them asked about this in interviews they say something to the extent of "its 80-90% car, were just along for the ride trying to keep it going straight"

edit: 9,500

Congrats on 9500.

I think it'd be fun to race top fuel, but not even close to as fun as WRC or open wheel.

or top level sports cars

audi r8/10, for example, is not much slower than f1 cars, and at faster tracks (la sarthe, probably the most obvious example) are actually faster

difficulty is relative, You can be preforming the easiest task in the world, and still have it be made difficult through compitition. Im sure with a days practice you could lauch a top fuel car through the end of a 1/4 mile, but Im sure it would take years to match a pro, even if the same people set up your car. Drag racing is simply much smaller incriments then other racing...Like how tenths of seconds in F1 = seconds in WRC = hundresths of seconds in Drag racing.

but yeah....still boring.

I watched drag racing on tv for a bit this morning, and listening to a winded "drag racer" talk is a gibrish mess.
