I drove a 96 S14 today and I have to say, I was impressed. The fit and finish of the S14 seems to be a step up vs the S13. As much as I like the external styling of the S13(with the headlights down), the newer ones are quite nice.

This may seem an odd post but I'm pretty excited that I liked the 2nd gen. I have decided recently to get one but didnt think I would enjoy the ride as much as I did.

Anywho, I am a convert.

Still driving the 93 S13....for nowSlip

So... are you gonna get it? Or pass? I'm sure someone on here would love to pick up the one you test drove if it's for sale...

You dont want the one I was looking at. It was an automatic(which was pretty damn quick, surprisingly) but aside from that it had hit something and may have been rear ended too. Lowsy repaint too. the only good thing was the interior was pretty clean and it ran. Goes to show, even beat up 240s still drive pretty damn good.

The main reason I looked at it was to see if I fit into the car(I'm 6'2") with the sunroof option and to see what the interior was like. I really wouldnt recommend it to anyone :)

Heres the list of problems I noticed in the 15 min I looked at it:

Missing wheel well protection(plastic crap) on both sidesDented hood(sharp crease at the front)Very obviously repainted in many places(paint on the exhaust tips, lol)Alignment(at least) was off if not bent frame(didnt inspect underneath for frame damage)console for the passenger side door was not fastened downrpm meter was locked at 2k and 3k(guessing engine diagnosis as the check engine light was on too)

Positive things: everything else worked, se model with 5 lug alloys, strong automatic, suspension seemed very suspensive

Anywho, more of a scouting issue to see how good the wholesaler cars were and maybe find common issues before I really started hunting for the replacement for the S13

I don't think the interior is that bad. A little bland but it's smooth. Of course it's not a porsche, but I don't think it's bad at all. I love my new S14
