So OEM replacement shocks and ebay springs aren't junk ? There's always risks in buying used stuff. That risk is multiplied when purchasing lesser quality items. Just my .02.

How low is the drop with the S-techs... and to answer I would LOVE to have coilovers but there is no possibility in me having an extra thousand dollars laying around..... the most i could probably get is 5-6 hundred and be safe without eating for a few weeks

some people don't like the harsh ride for a dd.

I don't mind them on my weekend car, but when i had them on the daily it sucked ***. I much prefer a nice ride from day to day.

Look in the NICO and Zilvia classifieds. There's people selling used but still good Tein's or JIC's in the 600-700 price range. Even less if you find a set of basic coilovers like Megan's or KSports. Brand new, the Megan's and Ksports are like 800.

Yeah, I can imagine some sick people do ( )But I injured my neck 3 or 4 years ago wrestling, and to harsh of rides can get to me. Pretty sad to say I already have a bad neck at the age of 17. I get migraines all the time even how it is, so I prefer a nice ride whenever possible.

Pure drifting

I don't know about stock suspension...... whenever I practice I get a lot of wheel hop and its hard to get a good slide going on..don't get me wrong I get some good lines in and all but it just doesn't feel right at all compared to my buddies coupe with megan streets.

I had dropzone springs and KYB AGX's.... then changed out my dropzones for eibach sportlines.

The result was a much more solid feeling suspension and about 1/4 -1/2 inch lower stance.

I wouldnt buy Dropzones ever but the car came with them so thats what I used till I got coilovers on my other car. My other car had stock struts and sportlines. I ditched the crappy spring and now I have one car with Tein HEs and the other car has about the best (my opinion) street setup you can get (kyb agx/sportlines).

So yeah..... avoid the dropzones fool!

oh, and if your planning on making a car thats going to be abused alot on the track just go with coilovers. Its a night and day difference using coilovers compared to spring/strut combo.

Heres how it looks with stock shocks and the Drop zone springs on my old s14, it pretty stiff but not compared to my tein coilover. I would get it again if I dont have the cash to get something really good.

I'm willing to bet they didn't improve handling.

A lower center of gravity and harsher ride can give the impression that the handling has been improved, but I bet taking the car to the track and driven by a professional would tell otherwise. It's like people who get loud mufflers and then they suddenly have an impression that they felt a "5hp" increase, when really it's all psychological effect.

man, if you want coilovers dont bother cheaping out. Just get something new that you can rely on.

If your looking to spend 400 bux get KYB AGX/ Tein or Eibach springs.

Just giving my input on this..

I run KYB AGX with Eibach Pro springs, Much better then the old setup of Megan springs on OE shock/struts. As for the drop, Ill let the picture speak for its self.

You sir have a clean arse ride! Thats the kinda drop I like, low enough to see a difference but not JDM Tyte low lol. You have also helped me make out my mind on which springs to get.

I agree, when it comes to suspen parts, don't cheap out, if your budget is 400$ get set of springs/struts. If you have the ability to save some coin, even a set of megan streets (roughly $800) is in my opinion buying a set of used set of coilovers from a stranger. If you were buying them from someone you trust, different story, otherwise, stick with new parts.

Origionally I was on a cheap setup of Sportlines and GR-2s, the ride hieght was nice, but the performace in that setup was just not there. So I kinda had to eat the cost of that and just last week ordered a set of Stance AL+ Pros. Hopfully I will like these. [/threadjack]
