OK, so yesterday I was driving home from college and I was in a bit of traffic, but when I would hold in the clutch after decellerating my RPM's would drop below 500 and almost stall, but then would go back up to normal idle...

This would only happen like once every couple of times, and even once when decellerating from 4th...

Why's it dropping like this?

More than likely your IACV is needed to be cleaned or replaced.

You can try to run Seafoam through it but might have better luck taking it off the intake manifold and cleaning it with carb cleaner.

On my KA I ended up replacing it and didn't have an problems after that.

i would also say check all of you sensors. i have had some IACV's work perfectly fine even though they look like crap. check your coolant temp sensor as well if you idle is irratic and jumps around a whole lot!

idle is not crazy irratic, but every now and again when I slow down to stop at a red light the idle just drops and almost stalls, but not every time, only every couple of times.

Wheres the best place to get an IACV?

Is it most likely the IACV?

Looked up the tutorial and In the tutorial it says it is easy to remove the IACV, when I can't see it let alone get any kind of tools in there to remove it... Is there an easier way that Im missing? The idle is starting to get worse, so I really need to clean this to see if its the culprate.

Is there a way to clean it without removing the unit itself?

Any way to remove it easier?

UPDATE: Got that ***** of a IACV off just in time for it to get dark so it will have to wait until the morning to get put back on, the 4 10mm bolts werent even the hardest part. those staples that hold on the plugs were a ***** as well. That blue plug was zip-tied to the IACV so of course that pissed me off even more. Finally got it off!

Cleaned it all up and waiting to put it back on tomorrow morning, hopefully it solves my idle problem.

OK so i put it back on after cleaning it, but now my idle is acting weird, it doesn't suddenly drop but rather fluctuates between 500-900, sometimes itll stay pegged on 750 and others it will fluctuate... why ?
