Well, i had to drop my statics class today. the stuff just wasnt clicking. that and i wasnt in Calc.2 like i should ahve been while taking the class. after today's test, which i thought i was prepared for, i couldnt even make a 100 on the final and pass the course. soo, i think i'll just take it again in the fall and hopefully thigns will go better for me. looks like my ME degree will be a 5-year plan instead of 4, which i am told is actually closer. i heard 4 years for the degree is REALLY stressful. oh well, hopefully my dad wont kill me or kick me out of the house.

I wish I could still drop some of my classes :( I'm in the same boat with Financial Accounting, its just not clicking and I am straight up screwed. No point in even going to class anymore.

Yeah calc 2 sucks, Im taking it now and it doesn't look too good at this point. Statistics I took already and I thought it was pretty straight forward. Just gotta memorize some of the rules and formulas. Anywho Integrals suck, Anti-derivatives suck, calc 2 sucks.

Statistics is one thing, *statics* is another. :D Hang in there Megaseth. It took me more years than I care to say to get my ME, but I had one hell of a time getting it. Graduated with like 170 credits or something like that. It was worth it I think.

I know how ya feel man. I'm not even to statics yet, and I'm already starting to question if this is the field for me. ME wouldn't be so bad if it wern't for the math!!! Too bad thats all it ends up being. Hang in there man, and don't worry, i'm already on the 6 year plan :thinker

speaking of minors.... at my school, all ME studends have to do to get a math minor is take one more math class... so see if that is the case at your school too.

haha, i need you in my class james. "what, we have more math hw....?? JAMES, GET 'EM!!!!"

Bronze, i dunno if we have the same thing, but i wouldnt doubt it. the thing is, im really into the math stuff. it keeps me semi-interested. but i just have a hard time really keeping attention to the boring theroy. theory is one thing, but actually doing it is another. im a visual guy, so i cant really pay attention or really get into it unless i can actually do it. i think thats why my labs are always much better beuase i can get into what we're doing.

LOL

after my test on thursday, it is now a mathmatical impossibilty for me to pass my calculus class. I need to go talk to the professor and see if he'll let me fly with a D if I ace the final. I need this credit to graduate, otherwise its a friggin $4,000 summer class for me... arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I dunno why they still say "4 years" unless you’re a super brain and you don’t have a life it’s not feasible. Don't feel bad though, I dropped my accounting and marketing classes earlier this month, the first time Iv ever dropped anything in my college career (all 4 years of it and counting... lol) I think I’m probably looking at the 6 year plan Anyway I had trouble with both Stat 1 and Stat II. Luckily I had a really good teacher for Stat II so it wasn’t too bad. Ill say they both suck though... I wouldn’t take either of them again if you paid me... Best of luck and stick with it, you will get through it. I’m almost afraid to graduate though... most of my friends who have graduated are having a hard time finding "good" jobs... :(

hmm, i didnt think there was a statics 2. i think everyone is getting it mixed up. statistics is the study of patterns and probability and statics is the study of forces in equilibreum. but yeah, i dont know of many people who get a 4 yr degree unless its in something really easy or theyre asian or indian.

Yeah, I've got a pretty big beef with the school I went to. They offer a "4 year program" of course. But their own curriculum assumes you take 17-18 credits for several semesters. The curriculum also assumes you test out of 4 semesters of language (required) and a few other classes, like chem I/lab and something else. I am not kidding, this stuff is in print, handed out by the college itself. If you don't test out of anything and add up the credits, I think it comes out to 154 credits required. Most schools are around 130-140 for graduation. I have not heard of a single person that got out in 4 years. Only one person I know (a real nerd) got out in 4 1/2 years. Yeah, I'm a bit bitter. 2 years of language? For an engineer? F'n silly.

I need to go talk to an advisor and change my major...but I'm too fed up with college to even do it. I missed the early registration and everything, skipped a test today because I'm going to fail anyway, its just going downhill :( Financial Accounting has made me re-think being a business major, ie: I will NOT stay a business major even if someone puts a gun to my head. Also, I will NOT take another math beyond college algebra, I dont care if it means I'm a garbage man for the rest of my life. It's better than that trash.

Engineering degrees must be really tough. I'm a bio major and I'll be graduating early. Lucky me. If it's statistics you're taking that's cake. Statics sounds pretty hard though, mostly because I've never even heard of it, except the stuff that shocks me on my car door.

LOL! I think Im going to either go to a 2 year community college then to a automotive tech school with job placement(Lincoln Tech) or Do the automotive tech then the two year so Ill have a decent job while in college. I might finish up the rest of my college years somewhere else, but Im not sure.

Good ol' Tennessee is having to cut all their class requirments down. 120 for a Bachelors and 60 for an associate. This sucks becuase I have put in like 74 to get my associate in Bus. Mang. Oh well as long as I grad this may it's all good.

Man The most I have ever done is 16 and that is still pushing it. WHen I was in the Mech Engineer program I tried 16 crditt hours and I wound up dropping college algebra. Was your college algebra a 5 hour course? I know the current one I am in is just 3.

Yup thats the class. Our marketing department splits statistics up into two seperate courses so you cover more information :rolleyes good ol' screwed up nku... horay! I wish I would have just taken one statistics class, they offer it but it doesnt meet my degree requirements :(

Statics does not equal Statistics...apparently there is a huge, evil, confusing difference in the two :)

Man, is it me, or am I the only person that thinks statics is *easier* than statistics? I failed statistics the first time, and got a C in it the second time. I got a B in statics my first time.

I can handle drawing free body diagrams....but I get confused when there is all this delta Z alpha deviation crap.

FBD arent my strong point, but i get them. i actually understood moments pretty well as well as rigid bodys. the thing that got me was centriods using double integration. that and i wasnt in calc 2 like i should have been while taking statics.
