Dropped keyfob in the toilet

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

And it still works! Whew what a relief, I think Infiniti actually thought about this when they made these things. It's actually pretty water tight.

Yeah, it's a pretty neat design. Inside the keyfob, the electronics are wrapped in a layer of rubber.

I left my keyfob in some shorts and washed them last weekend. Worked fine after I got it out of the washer. Luckily it didn't go into the dryer. It may be waterproof but I'll bet it's not heat proof.

Not sure I'd make it a habit though. ;)

The whole board is not conformal coated and susceptible to corrosion, so any water damage may show up later. I would still open it up and let it dry out if this happens again in the future.
